Life isn’t supposed to be stress-free by default. But there do exist some smart tactics that we may utilize to avoid stress and lead a productive life.

Danzae Pace once said,

“Stress is the trash of modern life. We all generate it but if you don’t dispose of it properly, it will pile up and overtake your life.”

Here I am sharing with you 13 amazing tips that would help you in leading a productive and stress-free life.

1) Embrace Failures

“It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all – in which case, you fail by default.”
— J.K. Rowling

Fear of failure squashes your will power for pursuing the big dreams.

It hinders your growth and kills your passion. Hence it is the biggest hurdle in the path to success.

All of the successful people that I know – did risk failure at some point in their lives. These include Thomas Edison, Steve Jobs, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Isaac Newton.

You must overcome the fear of failure in order to achieve your goals. Always keep this in your mind that even if you fail, failure itself reaps countless benefits. It helps in building your character, starting again more intelligently, develops resilience and patience.

In short, failing over and over again has been the secret of success for the majority of successful folks out there.

2) Stay Focused on Your Long-term Goals

“You must have long-term goals to keep you from being frustrated by short term failures.”
— Charles C. Noble

Long-term goals give you a solid direction and a sense of greater purpose.

I don’t know of a thing more fulfilling than progressing at something truly meaningful.

Working on something that you truly love and are passionate about leads you toward a productive and stress-free life since putting more effort into something truly meaningful means giving yourself less time to stress about unimportant and meaningless shit.

3) Accept Life as it Is

“Life is difficult. This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths. It is a great truth because once we truly see this truth, we transcend it. Once we truly know that life is difficult-once we truly understand and accept it-then life is no longer difficult. Because once it is accepted, the fact that life is difficult no longer matters.”
— Scott Peck

Once you have accepted the fact that life is not a bed of roses, neither it is full of thorns, life would become much easier and simpler.

Enough said!

4) Plan your Day

“Plan your work for today and everyday, then work your plan.”
–Margaret Thatcher

Planning your day helps you in accomplishing multiple tasks with sufficiency.

It will help with prioritizing your day-to-day tasks – so you won’t miss out on achieving the important tasks in order to achieve some unimportant one.

At the end of the day, you will be able to adequately analyze what went right and what went wrong and consequently, you will get better at planning your day and prioritizing your tasks.

Planning your day effectively will eventually help you in being productive throughout the day.

5) Learn to Conquer your Distractions

“By prevailing over all obstacles and distractions, one may unfailingly arrive at his chosen goal or destination.”
— Christopher Columbus

As humans, our mind is naturally wired in a way that it focuses on things that require a prompt response.

A few examples are, replying to a text message, checking out twitter notifications – while delaying things which are much more important like, eating at the right time, preparing for the upcoming college exams, exercising, etc.

In order to be productive, we need to eliminate such distractions and focus on achieving our important goals.

6) Learn to Manage your Time Effectively

“There is never enough time to do everything, but there is always enough time to do the most inmportant thing.”

The Oracle of Omaha, Warren Buffett reads over 500 pages a day.

Elon Musk used to read a book a day. He literally taught himself rocket science by reading textbooks. That’s big.

The CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg also happens to be an avid reader. In 2015 Mark was reading a new book every two weeks and continues the practice of reading books with zeal.

Books will expand your knowledge, give you new ideas, improve your vocabulary, communication, and memory. They will give you the skill-set required to succeed in life.

Reading vigorously will Increase your IQ and EQ, both and help you in leading a productive and stress-free life.

Even Tony Robbins recommends some spiritual activity on a regular basis. He recommends reading any of the Holy books for just 15 minutes every day, be it the Holy Quran, Bible, or Geeta.

Spiritual practices like praying do help in reducing stress and eventually lead to increased productivity and consequently, success.

“Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concenterate mind on the present moment.”
— Buddha

Living in the present moment means you are living happily.

Living in the past means you are either in a sad or regretful state of mind. On the other hand, worrying over the future leads to anxiety.

All these emotions will hinder your growth and keep you stressful enough that you won’t be able to focus on the much important task at hand.
